Crochet Classic Vest Dante No seam Vest Moss stitch

2024-02-23

Hello My Crochet Friends!

Today I prepared for you a tutorial for a wonderful classic timeless vest in a simple style.

The vest has a very simple construction, where you crochet the vest as one piece without sewing.

I chose a beautiful soft and pleasant Dante yarn and an universal black color that goes with every piece of clothing. I am so excited with this yarn, it is very pleasant, soft.

img_2737.jpeg

This vest is simple, original with its interesting shaggy spargling edge and a very versatile addition to your wardrobe. The great thing is that it can be worn in almost any season and for different kinds of occasions.

I chose a simple pattern, the moss stitch, made with single crochets and chain stitches. I also used this pattern for the edge around the vest. For the vest, I also crocheted a belt from the same yarn as the edge, Marion yarn. Marion yarn is an original yarn, effective, shaggy and with a shiny fiber.

The vest is thus belted at the waist and looks very feminine. The instructions are for size MEDIUM, you can easily adjust this size to be larger or smaller, you can crochet the vest longer or shorter, whichever style suits you.

img_4247.jpeg

This vest is great all year round, perfect from spring, summer, even autumn if you want to dress warmer for cooler days or evenings. It is also wonderful for work, the office or even at home.

The vest has a simple construction - it is crocheted as ONE piece. The front and back parts are joined on the shoulders and then there is a crochet border edge around the vest.

Are you looking forward to this classic, timeless vest with an interesting shaggy edge?

So let's get straight to work so you can head out in this vest as soon as possible.

Crocheting this vest is really fun, you can play around with the choice of yarn for a fancy edge or the choice of colors. I believe that this simple and yet elegant vest design will please not only you, but also your friends or colleagues.

So let me now get started and tell you what you will need in order to crochet this amazing CROCHET CLASSIC NO SEAM VEST MOSS STITCH WITH SHAGGY EDGE.

This CROCHET CLASSIC NO SEAM VEST MOSS STITCH WITH SHAGGY EDGE is very fun and quick to make.

The choice of yarn was easy - I chose a beautiful pleasant soft acrylic Dante yarn

Dante: 100g / 160 m / 100% acrylic

and on the edge a fine shaggy, effective Marion yarn with shiny fibers.
Marion: 100g / 115 m / 90 polyester a 10% nylon

Marion: https://www.vlnika.cz/z5452-prize-marion

Dante: https://www.vlnika.cz/z19373-prize-dante

For a women's VEST size MEDIUM you will need: 3 Dante balls and 1.5 Marion balls

I like Dante yarn very much, acrylic is light, soft, affordable and easy to maintain.
In addition, you can choose from many colors and also from self-patterning balls.

Hook 5.5 mm

Also need a sewing needle, a marker and scissors.

Size: women's, MEDIUM - you can easily adjust it to a larger or smaller size

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – Easy, for beginners

Abbreviations (US Crochet Terms):
SP - space
SlSt – slip stitch

CH/s – chain/s

PATTERN NOTES

1) Before you start take a measurement of height of your body and a body measurement (please see the final measurement of the vest below).

2) This pattern is for MEDIUM Woman size, but you can easily adapt to a smaller size or bigger size just by making the rectangles bigger or smaller.

Make the rectangle bigger or smaller just by reducing or increasing the number of rows.
Remember that when making your vest bigger you will need more yarn.

3) A ch1 at beg of the row DOESN'T count as a stitch throughout.

4) The Vest measurement:

width of front and back panels: 68 cm / 26.5 inch
width of front panel: 12 cm / 4.7 inch
width of edge: 12 cm / 4.7 inch
armhole: 20 cm / 8 inch
join on the shoulder: 11 cm / 4.3. inch
width of back panel: 44 cm / 17 inch

length from armhole down: 46 cm / 18 inch

total length: 66 cm / 25.7 inch

*Measurements are taken from the garment lying flat, before the yarn has stretched out/dropped.

5) The vest is crocheted from the bottom up, so we crochet the front panels and the back part at the same time, leaving a space for the armholes. The vest is joined on the shoulders. Finally, there is a crochet border around the vest.
