Crochet Winter Hat Arctic Bucket Hat

2024-01-18

Hello My Crochet Friends!

img_1999.jpeg

I love wearing hats. All crochet hats just make the adorable head warmers!

This crochet winter hat made with gorgeous Papatya Arctic yarn - it is an amazing and elegant hat pattern which will make your look entirely great!

The hat has a very simple shape, the bucket hat. I usually crochet this type of hat as a summer hat, so you already know it from me. Now I used it for the winter version.

Because of the simple crocheting of single crochet stitches in spiral roudns, crocheting with a large hook and thick woolen yarn, crocheting is pretty easy and you have a hat ready in an evening.

I chose the Papatya Arctic yarn, which I had not crocheted with before and I was really looking forward to it. I crocheted a neckwarmer cowl and a hat from a thinner version of this yarn a year ago and I am very satisfied with them.

Arctic yarn is a wonderful, pleasant, woolen yarn - you can choose from subtle neural colors that combine.

I chose a neutral cream color and immediately a beautifully elegant hat was born.

So today we will start with a crocheted winter hat, it is pleasantly warm, suitable for winter, colder spring and fall time.

In the instructions below, there is a women size, but you can easily change it to your women's size and have hat that fits well right away.

There is no complicated shaping in the pattern. The hat is constructed very simply, crocheted from top down

I chose a simple pattern made of single crochets, which even beginners can handle.
Are you looking forward to a winter hat? So let's get straight to work!.

CROCHET WINTER BUCKET HAT ARCTIC - PATTERN NOTES

1) The patterns below are for adult women medium size can be easily adapted to a smaller size or bigger size just by reducing or increasing the numbers of stitches and as well as less or more numbers of rows. Remember that when making bigger hat size, you will need more yarn.

Adult Woman Medium Size:

Head measurement: 22 inch / 56 cm

Hat Length: 9 inch / 23 cm

Hat circumference is 22 inch / 56 cm

Brim: 3.5 inch / 9 cm

*Measurements are taken from the garment lying flat, before the yarn has stretched out/dropped.

2) The HAT is crocheted in rounds, from the top down, using single crochet stitches

img_1787.jpeg

3) This HAT is worked up as a one piece, starting with a top - a magic ring and finish with a brim down.

4) A Ch 1 at beg of the row DOESN'T count as stitch

5) Magic ring = the starting point for crocheting in a spiral. Use which ever method you prefer.

6) Continuous rounds - the hat is worked up in continuous rounds, which means that you will not be joining the last stitch of the round with the first one. Instead you will need to keep track of where each round started and how many stitches you have made because after each round you will continue right on to the stitches of the next round (with no join). It is useful to use a stitch marker or piece of yarn to mark the start or end of each round.

7) ( ) – The number of stitches that should be in a completed round/row are placed in brackets at the end of that round’s/row’s instructions.
