I am introducing a pattern for a crocheted summer hat made of Raffiana yarn. The hat is designed as an airy and lightweight model with a wide brim that provides protection from the sun. I crocheted the entire hat to be as airy, open, and truly comfortable to wear as possible. The top part, or rather the body of the hat, is relatively openwork. For its crocheting, I used double crochets, single crochets, and chains, which ensures pleasant breathability while maintaining the stability of the pattern.

The brim, on the other hand, is firm, crocheted with single crochets – thanks to this, it reliably protects your eyes from the sun and holds its shape perfectly!

The hat is also wonderfully packable – it easily fits into a handbag, beach bag, or backpack.

The pattern is truly easy and completely suitable for beginners. To stiffen the brim, I do not use any wires, stiffeners, or glue. The brim holds its shape exactly as it should, all on its own!

The pattern below is prepared for a girl's size and a small women's size S/M. You can easily adjust the size to be smaller or larger – whether for children or adults – by simply modifying the number of stitches and rounds. You will find all recommendations on how to customize the hat in the instructions below.

I crocheted the hat using two colors of yarn, but you can, of course, create it using a single-colored yarn, or on the contrary, be bold and crochet it in any colors you like, exactly according to your imagination!

The crocheting is done from top to bottom, so you have the option to try the hat on continuously and easily adjust the size so that it fits you perfectly.
