Beautiful day to my dear, skillful friends!
It looks like we'll have to wait a few more days for summer, but once those beautiful sunny summer days arrive, you'll be ready to head out in your new blouse. For this crocheted summer blouse, I chose a super easy pattern using double crochet, single crochet, and chain stitches, along with a really simple design and construction.
Try this crocheted summer striped blouse! You can crochet the blouse longer or shorter – I chose a waist-length and fitted design. I crocheted with the well-known Dolly yarn, which I have excellent experience with. It's a wonderfully soft yarn with a beautiful sheen and many colors to choose from. Honestly, I must say I'm very satisfied with it!
You'll easily remember the simple pattern for this blouse, as only 2 rows repeat. You can crochet the blouse similarly to how I did, using white as a base color with 3 selected tone-on-tone colors – this beautifully highlights the horizontal stripes. There's no complicated counting; it works up quickly and easily, and you'll be excited to see the blouse grow fast, having a new summer wardrobe piece ready in just a weekend.
This blouse is perfect for summer, but also for year-round wear. And the great thing is, you can easily customize it to any size, your taste, and your style.
Even a beginner can try it! Doesn't that sound amazing? Let's start crocheting together.

CROCHET SIMPLE SUMMER TOP DOLLY
This top or blouse can be crocheted even by beginners. We're crocheting a simple pattern of double crochet, single crochet, and chain stitches, which, after 2 white rows, alternates with a pink-to-burgundy color transition. This creates interesting color changes and stripes.
Only basic crochet knowledge is needed; everything is explained in the pattern below and shown in detail in the video tutorial.
Should you have any questions about the pattern, we're here for you. Don't hesitate to contact me.
INSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The pattern is for women's size S/M. It's easy to adjust to your own size by adding stitches in a row and adding more rows. Crocheting this top is fun, and it works up quickly as the pattern repeats. If you want to adjust the size, it's very easy: just change the length of the foundation chain at the beginning of crocheting and then the number of rows. You can adjust the armholes and neckline when seaming the front and back pieces.

PATTERN NOTES
-
The pattern below is for a women's size S/M. You can easily adjust it to your exact size by adding or subtracting the number of stitches and rows. Remember that for a larger size, you'll need more yarn than listed above.
-
Before you start crocheting, take your measurements – your chest circumference and the length from your shoulder to your waist.
-
I do NOT count a ch 1 at the beginning of a row as a stitch.
-
A ch 3 at the beginning of a row counts as a double crochet (dc).
-
The top has a simple construction: 2 identical pieces seamed along the sides and shoulders.
-
Instructions between two asterisks (*) mean the pattern repeats.
-
Finished Size (approximate):
- Height: 45 cm (17.7 inches)
- Width: 43 cm (16.9 inches)
- Armhole height: 20 cm (7.9 inches)
- Neckline width: 29 cm (11.4 inches)
- Shoulder seam width: 7 cm (2.8 inches)
Note: Size is measured with the fabric laid flat and smoothed out on a flat surface (e.g., a table), before the fabric stretches or pulls according to body measurements.

FRONT PANEL
Foundation Chain: Ch 100 Work in rows, turning your work at the end of each row.
Ch 3 at the beginning of a row counts as a dc.
- R1: Ch 3 (dc), 1 dc into the 4th ch from hook, 1 dc into each ch across to the end of the row (101 dc). Turn.
- R2: Ch 3 (dc), 1 dc into the next 4 dc, *ch 1, skip 1 st, 1 dc into the next 4 dc*, repeat from * to * across to the end of the row, 1 dc into the last st. Turn.
- R3: Ch 1, 1 sc into the 1st st, *ch 4, 1 sc into the next ch-1 space*, repeat from * to * across to the end of the row, 1 sc into the last st. Turn.
- R4: Ch 3 (dc), 4 dc into the next ch-4 space, *ch 1, 4 dc into the next ch-4 space*, repeat from * to * across to the end of the row, 1 dc into the last st. Turn.
Repeat Rows R3 to R4.
Last Row: Ch 3 (dc), *1 dc into the next 4 dc, 1 dc into the ch-1 space*, repeat from * to * across to the end of the row, 1 dc into the last st. Turn.
Crochet the back panel to the same size.
Assembly and Edging
Seam the two panels together along the sides. Leave approximately 20 cm (7.9 inches) unseamed for the armholes.
Seam the two panels together at the shoulders for about 7 cm (2.8 inches) from the side edge.
Edging Around the Neckline
Work on the right side of the fabric. Crochet slip stitches (sl st) into the double crochet (dc) stitches around the neckline.
Edging Around the Armholes
First, prepare a foundation row, working on the right side. Single crochet (sc) along the sides before seaming. Work evenly, approximately 3 sc around each dc and 1 sc into each ending sc.
Seam or single crochet (sc) the two panels together along the sides using slip stitches. Leave approximately 20 cm (7.9 inches) unseamed for the armholes. Seam or single crochet on the wrong side.
After completing the seaming/single crocheting, continue by crocheting single crochet stitches, working on the right side. Crochet one sc into each single crochet all the way around. Finish with an invisible join.
Edge the armhole on the opposite side in the same way.
Done!
