CROCHET ULTRA CROP TOP XENA WITH LONG MESH SLEEVES

This Crochet Top with Flower Granny Squares is easy to make.

The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches - single crochets and doubles and chains.

The flower granny square ultra crop top with long sleeves crochet pattern is for beginners.

This Top is made up with 3 squares on each panel, the panels are seamed together and the sleeves are joined to each shorter side of panels.

Easy to adjust, you can make this top in a number of sizes.

I also provided size instructions below. You just need to measure the chest circumference and crochet the flower granny squares size accordingly.

To measure your square size, make sure you measure one side up and down and not across.

The direction shown are for Teenage Girls/ Women XS size but can be easily converted into bigger size or smaller size – just by making the PANEL according to the your size.

Crop top is made with yarn XENA

https://www.vlnika.cz/z22416-prize-xena

XENA: 100g / 200m / 45% acrylic + 55% cotton

You will need 2 skeins for XS - S size.

For this pattern you will need 5.0 mm crochet hook.

Stitch Marker

So let me now get started and tell you what you will need in order to crochet this ultra crop top with long sleeves.

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – for beginners

US crochet terms:

SlSt – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
DC - double crochet

SC - single crochet
SK - skip
T - turn
ST/s - stitch(es)
REP - repeat
YO – yarn over

img_9582.jpeg

Special stitches: CLUSTER STITCH

Although any cluster stitch is a more intermediate level stitch, once you know the basics of crochet, it's easy to learn. There are several variations of cluster stitch, but they all come together the same way. To make a crochet cluster, you start a basic crochet stitch like double crochet or treble, but you don't complete the stitch. Then you make several more partial crochet stitches all in the same stitch base. Finally, with several active stitches on your hook, you do one final yarn over and draw it through all the loops.

Special stitches: 3dc-cluster

3DC Cluster Stitch instructions:
Yarn over and insert the hook always into the stitch where you are creating your puff stitch. Yarn over again and pull through 2 loops. There will be 2 loops on the hook.
Repeat twice. Each time adds 1 more loop to the hook. There will be 4 loops on the hook for a 3dc-cluster stitch. Yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.

In the ULTRA CROP TOP XENA WITH LONG SLEEVES pattern I don’t finish with chain one (an extra chain stitch is often used to secure the cluster stitch firmly).

PATTERN NOTES

1) Before you start take a measurement of your body and a body measurement.

Please see the final measurement of the top below.

2) This pattern is for XS women size, but you can easily adapt to a smaller size or bigger size just by reducing or increasing the number of edging panel's rows. Remember that when making your top bigger you will need more yarn.

3) A chain at beg of the round DOESN'T count as a stitch

4) The panel consists of 3 squares joined together.

5) On every round with double crochet stitches replace the first stitch with 3 chain stitches.

6) The Crop top is symmetrical. You can wear front panel on front side or on back side or upside down.

7) Instructions between two asterisks should be repeated for the remainder of the round

img_9622.jpeg

8) Measurement:

Panel width: 35.5 cm / 13.8 inch

Panel length: 12.5 cm / 5 inch

Sleeve length: 70 cm / 27.5 inch

Neck opening width: 25 cm / 9.8 inch

Shoulder's seam: 5 cm / 2 inch

*Measurements are taken from the garment lying flat, before the yarn has stretched out/dropped.
I suggest trying on the top. The corners markers should meet underneath your arms on both sides. The top should fit over your bust.
