-
In Part 2, we'll crochet the tunic's yoke, sleeves, and body. We'll explain how to regularly increase or decrease to make the tunic fit like a glove. We'll simply explore how it's done!
-
In Part 3, we'll learn to crochet the fan stitch for the lower part of the tunic/skirt. We'll show you how to work with it to achieve the perfect shape.
-
In the last part, we'll show you how to finish the entire tunic, how to embellish it with the border and picots, and then we'll simply admire our masterpiece!
And once again, we'll have a WhatsApp group where we share photos, advise each other, support each other, and simply have fun! We're a super team! Will you join us?

THE DOLLY OMBRE TUNIC: A SUMMER CROCHET DREAM WITH STAR & FAN LACE
Size and Fit:
- This crocheted tunic is designed for a women's size S/M as a fitted tunic.
- It features a flexible stitch pattern that adapts beautifully to your figure.
- The tunic has a classic, comfortable fit and gently flares out over the hips at the bottom.
- The tunic is crocheted from the top down, starting with a circular yoke. This allows you to try it on as you go and adjust the size for a perfect fit.
- You can easily extend the tunic to make it a dress by simply crocheting more repeats of the lower body pattern.
- A ch 3 at the beginning of a round counts as a double crochet (dc).
- The tunic is crocheted in the round, continuously expanding with each pattern repeat. Each round is joined with a slip stitch (sl st) at the end.
- If you wish to make the tunic wider or narrower, you can easily adjust the increases or decreases according to the instructions provided.
Top-Down Raglan Construction
- This tunic is crocheted top-down in a raglan style with a circular yoke.
- One of my favorite things about top-down crocheted raglans is that you can try them on and adjust the size as you crochet to fit your style.
- For example, if you find the underarm area a little snug after completing the yoke, you can simply add a few more rounds to the yoke (without increases) before dividing for the sleeves and body.
- And if you want to shorten or lengthen the tunic, you can simply remove or add rows until you're happy with the length! The same applies to the sleeves as well.
- This type of raglan construction is also very suitable for beginners who are only trying out simple patterns.

The YOKE and BODY are crocheted using the Star Stitch.
- YOKE: Begin with a foundation chain to create a comfortable neckline around your neck.
- Then, crochet in rounds, gradually expanding the neckline by evenly increasing in each round.
- Do not turn your work while crocheting; always work on the right side.
- The yoke expands in a circular fashion.
- TUNIC BODY: We'll divide the yoke to create the armholes, and then simply crochet in rounds downwards.
- To adjust the length of the body or sleeves, simply repeat the last rows until you're happy with the length.
- The tunic body is crocheted with decreases under the bust and then straight down to the waist.
-
Flaring from the Waist - Crocheted with the Fan Stitch
- The tunic expands over the hips. You can evenly increase the width according to your preference, making the tunic either form-fitting or very flowy and gathered.
- Skirt / Lower Tunic Section
- Continue crocheting with the same fan stitch pattern. Again, expand evenly as desired. I recommend adding "fans" at the sides, or also at the center front and center back. This section can also be crocheted longer or shorter, straight or with additional flare.
- Bottom Edge
- The last round is crocheted using a picot stitch pattern. This picot edging is also used around the armholes.
