Crochet Christmas Snowflakes coasters that will cozy up your table or Christmas tree! I love making homemade things, particularly around the holidays. There’s just something about relaxing on cold evenings with my crochet hooks in hand and creating beautiful gifts for my family and my friends. I also love doing my own crochet decoration and if you do as well, you have to check out these beautiful Christmas Snowflakes ornaments that you can use to decorate so many things.

So if you're looking for something simple and less time-consuming home Christmas decoration ahead of the holidays, I suggest making these crochet Christmas Snowflakes ornaments. They’re perfect no matter where you use them to decorate and I think you'll be happy with the results. I think crocheting and Christmas go hand in hand. This pattern is made for beginners - only a basic skill level is required to make it. If you don't understand any of my instructions, don't worry I am here for you - enter the comments at the end of this post.

SNOWFLAKE DIRECTIONS

This snowflake is easy to make.
The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches - single, double, triple crochets and chains.
The pattern was made with YarnArt Begonia: 100% cotton, mercerized cotton, 50g/1.76oz = 169m/185yrds
Crochet hook 2.0 mm.

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – Easy, for beginners

US crochet term:
SlSt – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
SC – simple crochet
HDC - half double crochet
DC - double crochet
TR - triple crochet
SK - skip
T - turn
ST/s - stitch(es)
REP - repeat

Pattern Notes
1) A ch1 at beg of the row counts as sc, a ch3 at beg of the row counts as dc, a ch4 at beg of the row counts as tr throughout.
2) The project is crocheted as a circle. Finish rounds with sl st.
3) It's really a wonderful design - you can create snowflakes that would make great coasters, doilies or Christmas tree decoration.

Make a magic ring
Round 1: Cluster of Chain 3 (counts as 1 dc) and 1dc, ch2, *2dc cluster, ch2* repeat from * to * 10 more times, end up with sl st in the top of 3rd ch from beg
You will have 12 groups of "2dc clusters" placed in the magic ring

Round 2: sl st in next 2 st from previous row to move into the middle of the first chain sp.
1sc *ch5, 1sc in the next ch sp* repeat from * to * 11 more times, end up with sl st in the 1st sc
You will have 12 groups of "ch5" placed between ch sp from previous row

Round 3: sl st in next 2 st from previous row to move into the middle of the first chain sp.
*1sc, ch12, 1sc in the same ch sp, ch5 to move next ch sp, 2sc in the next ch sp, ch5 to move to next ch sp* repeat from * to * 4 more times
the last sequence: 1sc, ch12, 1sc in the same ch sp, ch5 to move next ch sp, 2sc in the next ch sp, 2ch, 1dc placed into the 1st sc at the beg
You will have 6 groups of "ch12" around

Round 4: *in the ch12 sp work 6dc, ch1, 6dc, in the next ch sp work 1sc, then ch5 to move to next ch sp, in that next ch sp work 1sc*
repeat from * to * 4 more times,
the last sequence: in the ch12 sp work 6dc, ch1, 6dc, in the next ch sp work 1sc, then ch2 and 1dc placed into the 1st dc at the beg
You will have 6 groups around

Round 5: ch4 (counts as 1tr) ch2, 1tr in the same ch sp, ch5, 1sc in the nex ch sp, ch5,
*1tr in the next ch sp, ch2, 1tr in the same ch sp, ch5, 1sc in the next ch sp, ch5*
repeat from * to * 4 more times, end up with sl st into the 4st ch from beg
You will have 6 groups of 2tr "v" around

Round 6: ch3 (count as 1dc) *1dc into each st from previous row till you reach the top of the snowflake then work 3dc into the sc from the previous row, then again only 1dc into each st*
repeat from * to * till the end of the row, end up with sl st in the 3rd ch from beg

Round 7 - ending (it is optional): change the colour - I used red and green
ch1 (count as 1sc) *1sc into each st from previous row till you reach the end of the row

Cut the yarn and fasten off.
