DRAWSTRING GIFT BAG DIRECTIONS

The gift bag and also the little heart application are very easy to make.
The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches - double crochet stitches and chains.
The pattern was made with:
Drops Safran, 100% cotton, 5ply/sport, 50g = 160m, 1 skein

Gauge: 10 x 10 cm = 24 st x 32 row

Crochet hooks: 3.5mm

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – Easy, for beginners

US crochet term:
Sl St – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
DC - double crochet
SP - space
CH2 SP - chain2 space
SK - skip
REP - repeat

Pattern Notes
1) A ch3 at beg of the row counts as dc throughout.
2) The project is crocheted in rounds. Each round is finished with sl st place in 3rd chain from beginning.
3) The project is crocheted from bottom up.
4) To have the bag stronger, please use 2 yarns together.

PATTERN:
Use 3.5mm crochet hook.
Use 2 yarns together.
Make a slip knot and ch23. 
Be sure not to twist your chain.

R1: ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc into each st around till end of row, then add 5 more dc in the first ch (you made at beg) - you will have 6 dc in this first ch.
Keep continue crocheting on opposite site of basic chain.
Work 22 dc till end.
When you reach the last ch, add 5 more dc in this last ch, you will have 6 dc in last ch (the same number as you have at beg in first ch).
Join the row by sl st into 3rd ch from beg
You will have 56 dc around in R1.
Make sure you have 56 st in each round :)

R2: ch3 (1dc), 1dc in each next st around till end of row, sl st into 3rd ch from beg
You will have 56 dc.

R3: ch3, 1dc in next 10st (11dc), ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 26st around (you will reach the middle of opposite site of your bag), ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 15st around till end of row, sl st in 3rd from beg

R4: ch3, 1dc in next 8st (9dc), ch2, sk 2st, 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 22 st, ch2, sk 2st, 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2 st, 1dc in next 13st around till end of row, sl st in 3rd from beg

R5: ch3, 1dc in next 6st (7dc), ch2, sk 2st, 2dc in ch2 space,
1dc in next 2st, 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2st,
1dc in next 18 st, ch2, sk 2st, 2dc in ch2 sp, 1dc in next 2st, 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2 st, 1dc in next 11st around till end of row, sl st in 3rd from beg

R6: ch3, 1dc in next 4st (5dc), ch2, sk 2st, 2dc in ch2 space,
1dc in next 6st, 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2st,
1dc in next 14 st, ch2, sk 2st, 2dc in ch2 sp, 1dc in next 6st, 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2 st, 1dc in next 9st around till end of row, sl st in 3rd from beg

R7: ch3, 1dc in next 2st (3dc), ch2, sk 2st, 2dc in ch2 space,
1dc in next 10st, 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2st,
1dc in next 10 st, ch2, sk 2st, 2dc in ch2 sp, 1dc in next 10st, 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2 st, 1dc in next 7st around till end of row, sl st in 3rd from beg

R8 = ch3, 1dc in next 2st (3dc), ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 14st, ch2, sk 2st,
1dc in next 10 st, ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 14st, ch2, sk 2 st, 1dc in next 7st around till end of row, sl st in 3rd from beg

R9 = ch3, 1dc in next 2st (3dc), ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 6st, ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 6st, ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 10st,
ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 6st, ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 6st, ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next 7st around till end of row, sl st in 3rd from beg

R10 = ch3, 1dc in next 2st (3dc), 2dc in ch2 sp, ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next st, ch2, sk 2st, 1dc in next st, 2dc in ch2 sp, 1dc in next st, ch2, sk 2 st, 1dc in next st, ch2, sk 2s, 2dc in ch2 sp,

R11: ch3, work 1dc in each st/ch around, sl st in 3rd from beg  (56 dc around)

R12-R13: ch3, 1dc in each st around, sl st in 3rd from beg  (56 dc around)

R14: ch3, ch1, sk 1st, 1dc in next st, rep: ch1, sk 1 st, 1dc in next st till you reach the beg, sl st in 3rd from beg

R15: ch3, 1dc in each st/ch around, sl st in 3rd from beg  (56dc around)

R16 ending (optionally): 1sl st in each st around (56sl st)

Cut the yarn and fasten off.

DRAWSTRING
Use 3.5mm crochet hook.
Use any other complementary colour (I chose grey colour for my string)
Use 2 yarns together.
Make a slip knot and chain approximately ch100. 
Be sure not to twist your chain.
Pull the string through the row R14 under and over each double crochet.

BAG MEASUREMENT:
Width: 6.3inch / 16cm
Height: 7.1inch / 18cm

LITTLE CUTE HEART APPLICATION
We will create the little heart application now.
Make a slip knot, ch4
Work in the first chain only now = place each st in this first ch!
Work 3 trc, ch1, 3 dc, ch1, 1 trc, 1ch, 3 dc, ch1, 3 trc, ch3, sl st in first ch to join the work.
Cut the yarn and fasten off.

Place the heart on the chain - pull the chain through the slip stitch on the heart.
