These Table Placemats and coasters are so fast to make, all you need is a free evening to make them for your dining table. You will need to know a few basic stitches like single, double, and half double crochet. You will also need to know a few of some complicated stitches like treble and 4 double cluster crochet. This project is started by making a magic ring.

I used: Bobbiny 3mm. 1 skein = 1 table placemat and 2 coasters.

For this pattern you will need 7.00 mm crochet hook

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – very easy for ultimate beginners

US crochet term:
SlSt – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
SC – single crochet
DC - double crochet

TR - triple crochet

ST/s - stitch(es)
REP - repeat

Special Stitches used: puff stitch

TR cluster
To work cluster stitch in this version, work as follows:

4 TR Cluster Stitch instructions:
Yarn over and insert the hook always into the stitch where you are creating your puff stitch. Yarn over again and pull through 2 loops. There will be 2 loops on the hook.
Repeat 4 more times. Each time adds 1 more loop to the hook. There will be 6 loops on the hook for a dc puff stitch. Yarn over and pull through all 6 loops on the hook. Finish with chain one.  An extra chain stitch is often used to secure the puff stitch firmly.
Puff stitch = in the same space placed 5dc cluster (5dc together), ch1

Pattern Notes

1)     A Ch 3 at beg of the row counts as dc throughout.

2)    The end of each round is attached to the first stitch of the round using a sl st - place a slip stitch in the ch from beg

3) This Table Placemat and coaster are crochet in the rounds. It's really a wonderful design - you can create smaller or larger Placemat that would make a great coasters, doilies or wall art. If you will work with bulky yarn and a larger hook and use the pattern to create a floor rug or wall art.

4) Instructions between two asterisks should be repeated for the remainder of the round
