So let me now get started and tell you what you will need in order to crochet this easygoing Poncho.

This EASY AND ROMANTIC poncho is very fun and quick to make.
The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches - double crochets, single crochets and chains.
The pattern was made with Alize Sekerim, 100g - 3.53 oz, 320 m - 350 yds

For this PONCHO M/L size size you will need only 1,5 skeins of Alize Sekerim

Crochet hook: 7.00 mm
Scissors and tapestry needle

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – Easy, for beginners

US crochet terms:

SlSt – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
DC - double crochet
SC - single crochet

SK - skip
T - turn
ST/s - stitch(es)
REP - repeat
YO – yarn over

1) Before you start take a measurement of height of your body and a body measurement (please see the final measurement of the poncho below).
2) This pattern is for M/L women size, but you can easily adapt to a smaller size or bigger size just by reducing or increasing the number of rows. Remember that when making your poncho bigger you will need more yarn.
3) A ch3 at beg of the round counts as a stitch, ch3 = 1dc. A ch1 at beg of the round DOESN'T count as a stitch, ch1 = 1sc.
4) The project is made as a one piece. Work back and forth from neck and down.

Work from top down.
Work in rows, back and forth
Crochet hook 7.00 mm
With your yarn and hook, work in rows, loosely.

Make a slip knot

Make a foundation chain: ch111

Measurement: 110 cm / 43 inch

R1: ch1, 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc each ch till end of row, turn

R4: ch1, 1 sc in first st, ch1 *skip 1 st, 1 sc in next ch1sp, ch1*, rep from * to * till end of row, 1sc in last st, turn

Repeat R2 and R3 till you have 10 rows.

Measurement of this first part:
6 cm / 2.2 inch high

INSTRUCTIONS TO INCREASE: make increase in ch1 spaces to get about 1/3 of stitches more.
Place 2sc in ch1sp instead of 1sc in ch1sp.

HOW MANY STITCHES: make increase to have a multiple of 9 stitches + 1 stitch
I will have 163 stitches after finishing R11.
