CROCHET RUFFLE YARN SKIRT FOR LITTLE BALLERINA PRINCESSES DIRECTIONS PATERN NOTES

1) Before you start crocheting I would recommend you measuring a waist circumference and a hip circumference measurement and the length to the knees and decide how long your skirt would be.

I crocheted this skirt with 120 chain stitches / 120 double crochets in the waist.

2) This pattern is for girls size but you can changed to bigger size by making more or less chains of the foundation chain. Remember that when making your dress bigger you will need more yarn

3) This skirt is created from the waist and down to the knees as a one piece, the waist and skirt length/width are customizable.

4) You can easily adjust the width and length of the skirt - instructions can be found in the written instructions. I always recommend checking and re-measurement after crocheting: WAIST, EXPANDED PART OF SKIRT, SKIRT WITHOUT EXPANSION.

I suggest trying on the skirt at the end of the ‘WAIST’ and ‘SKIRT INCREASE’ instructions. You can add or remove rounds after each stage to customize fit.

4) The skirt is perfectly symmetrical, equally wide at the front and back

5) The entire skirt is only one piece as its crocheted in the rounds from the waist down and there isn’t any extra seaming to join the skirt together. Since this is a waist down crochet pattern, it’s very easy to alter so that this skirt can fit your body.

6) Instructions between two asterisks should be repeated for the remainder of the round

7) Measurement:
Waist: 53 cm / 20 inch
Skirt length: 18 cm / 7 inch
Bottom circumference: 160 cm / 62 inch

*Measurements are taken from the garment lying flat, before the yarn has stretched out/dropped.

HOW TO CROCHET RUFFLE YARN SKIRT FOR LITTLE BALLERINA PRINCESSES DIRECTIONS

THE WRITTEN PATTERN

WAIST

Start with a foundation chain.
Chain 120ch.
The length of the foundation chain is the circumference of the hips.

Crochet by rows, back and forth.
ch2 at the beg of row doesn’t count as a stitch.

R2: ch2, 2dc in each st, turn (120 dc)

R3 - R5: repeat row R2

For the longer waist part make more rows.
Fold this part along the long side to create a tunel for the waist band.
