I think it looks awesome wearing this poetic skirt. It made many people around you say “Wow, she is like a princess”!

I love how the “V” pattern looks and I hope you are going to love it as well. It looks great especially in the design for the circle skirts pattern.

What you think of this skirt? Will you make it for your romantic events or for some parties?

This pattern is made for beginners - only a basic skill level is required to make it. If you don't understand any of my instructions, don't worry I am here for you - enter the comments at the end of this post.

Skirt Hannah Directions
This romantic skirt Hannah is easy to make.
The pattern uses only basic crochet stitches.
This skirt is crochet from the top down and you just need to measure the waist circumference and crochet a foundation chain circle accordingly.
The direction shown are for L size but can be easily converted into bigger size or smaller size – just by making the first foundation circle according to the circumference of your waist.

skirthannah3.jpeg

The pattern was made with Alize Bella Ombre Batic and YarnArt Begonnia.
For this skirt L size you will need 1 skein of Alize yarn and 1 skein of yarn Begonnia.

YarnArt Begonnia: 100% cotton, 50g/169m
Alize Bella Ombre Batic: 100% cotton 250g/8.82oz, 900m/984yds
For this pattern you will need 3.5 hooks

Difficulty Level: Level 1 – Easy, for beginners

US crochet term:
SlSt – slip stitch
CH/s – chain/s
SC – simple crochet
DC - double crochet
SK - skip
T - turn
ST/s - stitch(es)
REP - repeat

Pattern Notes
1)     Before you start take a waist measurement. I started with 136 rows of single crochet chainless foundation.
2)     This pattern is for size L but you can easily changed to bigger size by making more or less rows of single crochet chainless foundation.
3)     A Ch 3 at beg of the row counts as dc throughout, a ch 2 at the beg row counts as hdc throughout, and a ch 1 at beg of row counts as sc throughout
4)     Finish each round with sl st or 2 sl stitches to reach the middle of chain space.
5)    “V” = group of (1DC,ch1,1DC) crochets, “Double V” = group of (2dc, ch1, 2dc) crochets

skirthannah8.jpeg

There are 4 parts of the skirt:
A)    The waist part - single crochet chainless foundation
B)    The upper part - from waist to hips down = “V” pattern
C)    The middle part – from hips down = “double V” pattern
D)    The down part – white part
All parts of skirt pieces are crocheted together.
The zipper is used for side closure

PART A = THE WAIST
For this part is important not to have tight foundation chain.
We need stretchy edge here for the waist.
How I love to start with the Foundation Single Crochet! And the really great part about it, is that you create a foundation chain and first row of single crochets all at once!
This technique will give you an elastic, stretchy edge that looks beautiful! No more tight crochet edges J

Pick up the 3.5mm hook and let’s make a Single Crochet Chainless Foundation = 23 sc.
Follow Step By Step
Begin with a slip knot on your crochet hook, then chain two.
Insert your hook into the V of the first chain stitch.
Yarn over and pull up one stitch.
Yarn over and pull the yarn through the first loop on your hook.
Yarn over and pull through both of the loops on your hook to make a single crochet.
Continue Working.

Start each repeating by inserting your hook into the foundation chain made previously. This will be the “V” shaped stitch on the left. When starting each repeating, insert your hook through these 2 yarns. Then repeat steps, for each stitch you want to create.

1R Make 23 SC.Turn your work.

2R – 136R: 23 BLO SC
The Back Loop Single Crochet is a variation on the traditional Single Crochet stitch.
If you crochet a row of single crochet stitches and look at the top, you'll see how those little Vs form the stitches you crochet into. Typically, when you crochet single stitch you insert your hook under both the front and back loops of the V.
Instead of this, insert your hook into the back loop only and make your stitch as normal. In other words, you skip right over the front loop.
When working in the back loop only the crochet project becomes more elastic than the traditional way of working under both loops.

Boarder all around: SC all around the work
