Crochet Lacy Nautical Summer Hat

2022-07-22

Spending a lot of time at the beach this summer inspired me to create this lovely summer lace nautical hat.
I totally love the nautical vibes, white and blue stripes just feel lovely and fresh.

But you can play with many fun colors options.

You can easily size this pattern down or up by decreasing or increasing, adding a few extra rounds of the crown – perfect if you wish to make it using a smaller hook and yarn.

The lace stitch on this hat is made using V-stiches and chain spaces. I am absolutely in love with it!

Adjustment instructions for all sizes:

1) Rounds R1-R7 of the hat pattern are increase rounds that enlarge the circumference size. The repeating pattern of each of these rounds increases the total by 12 stitches. Continue to st increase rounds in the same manner until the circumferences matches the size you are adjusting to.

2) Keep in mind the hat will stretch on the head for fit.

3) Continue the remaining rounds R9 - R17 after the increase rounds until the crown top to brim measurement matches the size you are adjusting to.

4) No adjustments to the brim pattern are necessary. The brim will automatically adjust to the new increased stitches.

5) The round numbers and the finished total of stitches will have changed with additional increase rounds.

6) If the pattern of the increase round on the brim still has additional stitches to crochet, simply stop in the middle of the increase. Do not proceed past the end of the round.
